Paynesville and NLNB

Post by John Biggs » Sat Jul 27, 2019 11:54 am

Mike Spencer and I are flying out of London on Wednesday morning on the way to Paynesville and the NLNB Event. We fly to Chicago then drive up to Paynesville. We will arrive on Thursday late morning after a hotel stop in Wisconsin.

To us British, that is a long drive but is nothing compared to the distances our US friends travel to Tours. With the time change, it would be struggle to stay awake if we drove all the way in one stint.

Looking forward to meeting friends old and new. Have a safe trip.

Who is going to there?

John

Well another Paynesville and New London to New Brighton event is in the books! There were a dozen Early Fords at Paynesville, Model As, Fs, a K, several Ss and some early Ts. We had great weather on great roads. We also had fantastic pie, as is the tradition. It is a low key chance to catch up with all the EFR friends. This event show cases the warmth of small town life. We're a hit every where we go.

Continuing on to New London, the scramble begins. The day's tour becomes a shake down test for the big run on Saturday, everything is checked and rechecked to make sure that the car is prepared for the big run. Lots of touring, lots of events. Lots of friends, lots of unique early cars. The run kicks off 7:00 Saturday morning, rain or shine. And this year it was rain. It wasn't REAL heavy, but it was pretty regular the whole day. A more detailed report is forthcoming.
