Re: Dimensions of NRS Rear Axle Bearings?

John, The bearings- the outside round ends are 2" outside and 1 1/8" inside. The ends are the same for both small and large. The rollers for both bearings are 1/2" diameter. The center to center dimension (going across) on the ends for the rollers is 1 5/8" for both bearings. The only difference bet...

Re: Model N Firewall Drawing

Rob, I made a list of the drawings for the B that was on the reels (32 & 33) and no taxi body was on it. How ever, I never looked at the boxes 1 and 2 in Acc. 1701 pre- T boxes. The article says the body's where made in London so there is a chance Ford didn't design them. He might have just supplied...

Re: Model N Firewall Drawing

If you are there, also check Model N reels box 8, location- A12-L-3, the N stuff is on reels 32 and 33. There is some drawings that are only on these reels. Plus on some of these reels you will find K,B,A (and an English Taxi if I remember right) and factory drawings for the Quadricycle, although th...

Re: Model N Firewall Drawing

There is a factory drawing available. It is drawing N-995, Acc. 1701 pre-T box 3. The drawing is listed as 4-30-06. It also has a revision date on it 5-20-08. Most of the time it tells you why the later date (retrace, different measurements, ect.) This one does not tell you why. I have it in seven d...

Re: 1907 Model N rear end difference?

Hi, your right about the two different rear radius rods. The numbers I normally use is the factory drawing numbers. Drawing for the first rod (N-57A) has the dates of 3/15/06 till 6/6/07 and was then changed to N-57B. There also was a change to the rear radius rod stud (N-58)but not till 4/1/08. Thi...

Re: 1907 Model N rear end difference?

Hi, are you referring to the rear spring perches that hook the springs to the rear axle housing ? The factory drawing N-45A show the first one used until obsoleted in 4/27/08. I don't have the drawing N-45B for the second one. I do however think I still have both examples out in my garage. I will ge...

Re: Modified Model N, Places to look for information?

A lot of what you say is true. As far as the fenders and body I tend to agree. But, like the 03 A and 04 AC, there was an aftermarket hood and grille made for them (to make them look newer) along with brass rods for the back. And there were only around 1800 of them made, So there is a possibility th...

Re: Modified Model N, Places to look for information?

Hi, The hood length is 23 1/2" on mine. When I looked at the blue print for the old 1 door hood, I found the hood to be 25 1/2". So my hood is 2" shorter then stock. With the folding panels, you would not need doors to service the oil tank or choke on the carb. They probably made a different dash bo...
